Bluegrass Biker News is proud to present this letter of endorsement of our national events, as well a full endorsement of our 2023 event in Owensboro Kentucky by a motorsports announcer/event producer:
Army Armstrong.
The relationship story behind the Army & Jimmy:
During the early 1970’s while growing up and spending summers at Beech Bend Amusement Park located in Bowling Green Kentucky. Jimmy’s parents were both employed by Charlie and Martha Garvin, Founders of Beech Bend, Jimmy was considered an adopted grandson by Charlie and Martha,. During These years Jimmy was taking in every aspect of racing and amusement park operations on and around the property of Beech Bend.
Army was a young up and coming drag racer who ran weekly on the nationally recognized quarter mile dragstrip, in a Volkswagen beetle named “Macon Bacon”
A friendship between Army and Jimmy that was established in 1974 has continued to grow for a lifetime. Jimmy throughout his professional career has learned, watched and admired three motorsports’ commentators:
Army Armstrong, Chris Economaki and Barry Boone and has the privilege to work at varying events with them in a media capacity.
Two of these commentating icons have passed, Chris Economaki 2012 and Barry Boone in 2017 but even today they instill their influence on Jimmy every time he turns on a microphone, plans or attends an event, be it a race, show or media presentation.
Army Armstrong happens to be the last of these legends in motorsports, and Jimmy continues to look to Army for guidance, planning and presenting events and by receiving Army’s letter of recommendation is both proud and honored to work on the 2023 Bluegrass Legends Experience for you.
A commentator’s job is simple and was described to Jimmy in the same way from all the Mentors:
“ It’s our job to tell and explain to everyone in the most colorful way what you see”
Bluegrass Biker News is proud to announce our OVERNIGHT SECURITY TEAM. V.E.T. From that thought during a charitable event to getting response and support from thousands of people to get out there and attend, hundred of charitable events, concerts, bike nights and car shows have been and will continue to grow.
From an idea, to a three-ring binder and weaving our way through the world wide web using social media and retail business partnerships. Bluegrass Biker News Motorsports/Music/Events has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars and create hundreds of successful events. Yes the word BIKER is part of our name, why because we started and worked in the two wheel world for many of the first years.
